Study: Vaginal Estrogen Ups Serum Estradiol

Major Finding: Twelve hours post insertion, users of vaginal estradiol tablets had average serum estradiol levels of 76 pmol/L, up from an average of 4.7 pmol/L.

Data Source: A study of 24 postmenopausal breast cancer patients on adjuvant therapy who had been using vaginal estrogen for an average of 20 months to treat severe atrophic vaginitis, and 24 controls.
