3-D Sonography Appears Comparable to Cystometry

SHERRY BOSCHERT

Vitals

Major Finding: Using less invasive three-dimensional ultrasound for quantitative sensory testing of the bladder appeared to be comparable to retrograde cystometry results in the literature.

Data Source: Study of 49 healthy women who underwent classic assessments of first bladder sensation, first urge to urinate, and maximum bladder tolerance with sonographic assessment of bladder volumes instead of cystometry.

Disclosures: The National Institutes of Health funded the study. Dr. Tu reported having no conflicts of interest.
